Brookhill Females

At Brookhill Farms, we are always improving our females and genetics. We strive for females that produce vigorous calves with a quality build, feet, legs, udders, heritability and ‘breedability’.

Purebred females are bred to a variety of sires, we use semen and natural breeding with one of our herd sires. To us, a ‘cleanup’ bull is not a deal-breaker, and we still expect a great calf from clean-up matings if artificial insemination is not successful.

Commercial females are in our recipient program or our commercial program where we strive for hybrid vigor. The best commercial heifer calves are kept or sold to other producers. The heifers that don’t make the cut are sent to market. Steers are sent to market, with the exception of a 4-H steer or two.
